Abstract Phyllotaxis is a botanical classification scheme that can describe regular lattice-like structures on cylinders, often as set of helical chains. In this letter, we study the general properties repulsive particles cylindrical geometries and demonstrate leads to model which allows one predict minimum energy configuration for any given combination system parameters. We are able sequence transitions between phyllotactic ground states at zero temperature. Our results understood in terms newly identified global scale invariant, ? , dependent circumference density, alone determines ground-state structure.
